Stargate Finance (STG) is an omnichain-native asset bridge designed to tackle the blockchain trilemma, enabling secure, decentralized, and fast cross-chain transactions. Staking STG not only offers potential yield but also grants governance rights, allowing participants to influence protocol decisions through veSTG, Stargate’s voting escrow token. Its time-weighted reward system encourages long-term engagement by rewarding stakers proportionally to the duration of their locked assets.

Developed by LayerZero Labs and launched in March 2022, Stargate Finance introduced the first cross-chain bridge app with advanced balancing algorithms like the delta algorithm to optimize liquidity and maintain equilibrium across pools.
