You Can Now Pay for Parking Tickets in Crypto Across Europe

Seety, a Belgian virtual parking start-up, has introduced instant Bitcoin payments to its customers who would like to pay their parking tickets in cryptocurrency, with companies like Shop.com and Worldline also toeing the crypto line.

Seety, a Belgian virtual parking start-up, has introduced instant Bitcoin payments to its customers who would like to pay their parking tickets in cryptocurrency, with companies like Shop.com and Worldline also toeing the crypto line.

Pay in Crypto as You Park Your Car

DataNews has indicated that Seety, a parking ticket application, would soon enable customers to buy parking permits using cryptocurrency. The first phase of its crypto project would be accessible to only residents of Antwerp and Brussels.

Customers who wish to benefit from the new crypto feature must also buy Seety credits through the Seety app. At the time of writing, Seety supports Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Litecoin (LTC), Dogecoin (DOGE), Dai (DAI), and USD Coin (USDC) payments, with chances of accepting more coins in the future.

Seety is a digital parking software developed by Hadrien Crespin and Nicolas Cognaux, and is exclusive to users in Belgium, France, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands. The nascent social network already has almost 400,00 active users and has projected a revenue of about half a million euros for the later end of this year.

SHOP and Worldline Further Adoption

Asides Seety and its nifty adoption of crypto payments, SHOP and Worldine are also making swift plans to further crypto integration with its apps.

SHOP.com, one of the most prominent e-commerce companies in the world, recently partnered with BitPay, a cryptocurrency payment service provider, to enable consumers to buy items using crypto.

SHOP.com users will have options of making their payments in Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Dogecoin, Wrapped Bitcoin, Litecoin (LTC), and 5 USD-pegged stablecoins namely GUSD, USDC, PAX, DAI, and BUSD.

Worldline, one of the biggest global services providers with an annual revenue of more than $4 billion, joins the ranks of traditional payment institutions like MasterCard and PayPal in opening its arms to cryptocurrencies. 85,000 Swiss businesses are now allowed to accept Bitcoin and Ether as a payment option thanks to Worldline and Bitcoin Suisse's integrated solution, which employs WL Crypto Payments platform.

Worldline CEO, Marc Schluep, has noted that Worldline is deliberate about opening new doors and providing real value to businesses all around the world, including “simple and contemporary” payments to its customers wherever they operate.

Crypto payments are here, and modern, and firmly seated in contemporary culture, and there are only going to be more crypto integrations with traditional payment institutions in the near future, as the crypto industry gains even more traction.
