“Beer with Bill Murray” NFT Sold for $185K Worth of ETH at a Charity Auction
One of the “Bill Murray 1000” collection NFTs was sold for 119.2 ETH (around $185k) at a charity bidding war on Wednesday.
Coinbase user Brant Boersma offered the highest price for the NFT ticket that would let him have a beer with actor Bill Murray. The collection artist David Grizzle will paint a portrait of the two during their date.
The Bill Murray’s NFT collection was created by the Shack in partnership with the Coinbase NFT marketplace. It includes 1,000 unique NFTs, only 82 of which so far have been released. Murray’s team is said to donate the money earned at the auction to Chive Charities, a non-profit organization that helps families of veterans and first responders.
