Tron’s USDD Has Been Trading Under One Dollar for over a Week

After the dramatic crash of Terra Luna’s UST last month, all stablecoins’ fluctuations seem disturbing.

For over a week now Tron’s USDD has been trading under a dollar. The drop of the currency’s price makes many crypto users think that the stablecoin has depegged. However, the Tron officials deny the claims.

On Monday, June 13th, USDD slipped below $1 mark for the first time and kept going down after, hitting the bottom of $0.9255 on June 19th. Even though the currency has been growing this week, it still hasn’t reached the price of one dollar. At the moment of writing, the stablecoin is trading at $0.9735.

To alleviate the concerns of the community, last Friday the Tron DAO Reserve confirmed the currency hasn’t depegged from the US dollar. According to the officials, the dip of the stablecoin could be explained by its hybrid operational model that relies on collateralized assets.
