Tether to Launch GBP₮ Stablecoin Pegged to British Pound
Tether, a pioneer stablecoin platform, has just announced that it plans to launch a new stablecoin GBP₮ which will be pegged to the British pound sterling.
This way the company will expand its market presence and help the British crypto investors get cheaper and faster transfers.
The release of Tether tokens pegged to GBP will also play a big role in the crypto market development of the UK. Earlier this year, the British government officials talked about accepting stablecoins for payments and even making the country an international crypto hub. So, it looks like Tether chose the perfect time for launching GBP₮.
This currency will become the fifth stablecoin issued by Tether. Apart from USDT, the company has also released EUR₮ pegged to Euro, MXN₮ pegged to the Mexican Peso, and CNH₮ pegged to the Chinese Yuan.
