FC Barcelona Sells 24.5% of Barça Studios to Digital Fan Token Oriented Socios.com
Today, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta has announced that the football club will sell a 24.5% stake of Barça Studios to Socios.com for 100 million euros.
This will be Barcelona’s third “economic lever” that should help the company reduce its debts.
The sale is meant to accelerate Barcelona’s Web3, audiovisual, blockchain, and NFT strategy. As Laporta confirmed, the discussed Barça Studios’ share includes the club’s recently released NFTs, Fan Tokens, and their Metaverse presence. Another 24.5% of Barça Studios can also be sold in the future.
