Elon Musk Cites Whistleblower as Another Reason to End His $44 Billion Twitter Deal
New claims against the platform have come up from Twitter’s ex Head of security Peiter Zatko. The whistleblower reported social media’s shortcomings related to the privacy and security of users’ personal data. As a result, Elon Musk has filed another notice citing Zatko’s allegations as additional reasons to terminate the Twitter deal.
Twitter has denied Zatko’s accusations and once again called Musk’s attempt to scrap the deal “invalid and wrongful.” Both Elon Musk and Twitter’s legal team have subpoenaed the whistleblower. The new claims might play a key role in determining the fate of the Twitter-Musk deal during the trial which is to start on October 17.
Following the news, Twitter shares have dipped by 1%.
Dogecoin, which is known to react to Elon Musk’s movements, has dropped by almost 3% in the last 24 hours.
