What is Aurora (AURORA)
Aurora is a Layer-2 blockchain technology based on the Near Protocol. It is an Ethereum Virtual Machine and was created by the team behind NEAR. The project’s mainnet was launched in 2021 to provide users with a platform that is Ethereum-compatible and fit for the operation of applications.
The Aurora network allows users to benefit from low transaction fees, high throughput, and scalability. For example, with the help of the Aurora network, users can move smart contract-based apps from the Ethereum blockchain to the NEAR’s Layer-2 networks.
