HEX.COM is an interest blockchain time deposit. It was introduced in 2019 by the owner of the largest cut diamond, Richard Heart. HEX is a decentralized analog of a certificate of deposit, which encourages users to earn interest by depositing assets for a fixed amount of time. However, the HEX platform highlights considerable differences from certificates of deposit done by the traditional banking system. HEX’s CDs allow the user to be “their own bank” with the help of peer-to-peer technology.
HEX is a token based on the Ethereum network. HEX-holders staking their tokens can receive rewards in exchange for locking up their funds without the ability to access them unless they pay the penalty. Once their funds are unlocked they also access an interest payment. The period for which the user’s funds a locked up can vary between 1 and 5,555 days which the user decides. Longer the said period, the higher the reward. The network utilizes the Proof-of-Wait consensus algorithm.
In 2021, Richard Heart, the creator of HEX.COM, announced his next project - PulseChain. PulseChain will be created by copying Ethereum’s code and enhancing it to achieve cheaper and faster transactions. Currently, the project’s testnet is live.
