Robinhood Chain is an EVM-compatible Ethereum Layer 2 built with Arbitrum technology for tokenized assets and financial applications. Its public mainnet launched on July 1, 2026. The network uses ETH for gas, has Chain ID 4663 and publishes transaction data to Ethereum.
A Robinhood account is not required to use the chain. Compatible wallets can connect through its public RPC, transfer supported assets and interact with applications deployed on the network. Robinhood Chain also hosts Stock Tokens linked to selected stocks and ETFs.

TL;DR
ChangeNOW supports ETH, USDG and CASHCAT transfers on Robinhood Chain. HOODX follows Robinhood Markets shares and runs on Solana.
Robinhood Chain’s sequencer confirms a transaction before Ethereum finalizes its data. Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens can be withdrawn to supported wallets. Classic Stock Tokens stay in the Robinhood Europe app.
Robinhood Chain processes transactions on its own Layer 2 before recording their data on Ethereum. This gives users a quick confirmation and usually costs less than sending the same transaction directly through Ethereum.
Robinhood Chain FAQ
No. Robinhood Chain uses ETH for transaction fees and does not require a separate gas token.
No. Issuance and redemption are reserved for approved participants that meet the issuer’s requirements.
No. Stock Token availability depends on the user’s jurisdiction, the issuer’s terms and the platform providing access.
Yes. They can remain in a compatible wallet, although trading hours and available liquidity depend on the venue.
No. A listing in the Robinhood Chain ecosystem does not guarantee an application’s security, liquidity or performance.
Every transaction first reaches the sequencer, which places it in a queue. Robinhood Chain follows a first-come, first-served rule: the transaction that reaches the sequencer first goes first. The order stays tied to arrival time, so a higher gas fee cannot move a later transaction forward.
Stage
What Happens
Sequencer confirmation
The sequencer accepts the transaction and places it in the queue
Posted to Ethereum
Robinhood Chain publishes the transaction data to Ethereum
Ethereum finality
Ethereum finalizes the published data
The sequencer usually confirms a transaction in under one second. Ethereum finality comes later and is the safer reference for large transfers or contract actions that cannot be reversed [4].
NOWNodes waits longer before marking Robinhood Chain transactions as confirmed. Its infrastructure uses a threshold of 5,000 blocks.
“Robinhood Chain produces blocks roughly every 0.1 seconds on average. On our side, we wait for 5,000 confirmations, which comes to around 500 seconds at that block rate.” – ChangeNOW Listing Team
Robinhood Chain Gas Fees
Robinhood Chain charges two fee components:
L2 execution fee: the cost of processing the transaction on Robinhood Chain
L1 data fee: the cost of publishing transaction data to Ethereum
The amount can change with Ethereum congestion and the size of the transaction. A wallet combines both parts into one ETH fee [5].
How to Add Robinhood Chain to MetaMask
Robinhood Chain can be added to MetaMask as a custom network. Open the network menu, select Add a custom network and copy the RPC URL, Chain ID 4663, ETH symbol and Blockscout address from the network details above [3].
Save the settings, then select Robinhood Chain from the network menu.
Adding Robinhood Chain to MetaMask does not transfer assets from Ethereum or the Robinhood app. Moving ETH or tokens to the network requires a separate transfer or bridge transaction.
Robinhood Chain Block Explorer
The official Robinhood Chain block explorer is Blockscout. Paste a transaction hash into the search bar to see whether a transfer succeeded. The transaction page also shows its block number and gas fee.
Searching for a wallet address brings up its balance and transfer history. A contract search shows token information and previous contract activity.
How Robinhood Stock Tokens Work
A Robinhood Stock Token follows the value of a selected stock or ETF. The holder can gain or lose money as the referenced asset changes in value but receives no direct ownership or voting rights in the underlying company.
The tokens are issued by Robinhood Assets (Jersey) Limited [6]. Because Stock Tokens use the ERC-20 standard, compatible applications can:
display Stock Tokens in portfolios;
support spot trading;
create lending markets;
accept eligible tokens as collateral;
use them in structured financial products.
Stock Tokens must also account for changes to the underlying asset. When a company pays a dividend or splits its shares, Robinhood adjusts the conversion rate behind the token. Robinhood calls this conversion rate an onchain multiplier [6].
Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens vs Classic Stock Tokens
Robinhood now uses the Stock Token name for two products with different custody models.

Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens can be withdrawn to supported wallets, while Classic Stock Tokens remain positions inside the Robinhood Europe app [7].

Self-custody is the dividing line between the two products. It changes how a token can be held and used, but it does not turn either product into direct ownership of the underlying shares.
How Robinhood Chain Fits Into the ChangeNOW Ecosystem
ChangeNOW supports ETH, Global Dollar and Cash Cat transfers through Robinhood Chain. More assets from the network are already coming.
Ethereum on Robinhood Chain
ChangeNOW supports ETH transfers through Robinhood Chain. ETH received on the network can be used to pay gas for wallet transfers and contract interactions.
Important Note: The public tickers remain ETH, USDG and CASHCAT. ChangeNOW may use route codes containing HOOD to distinguish Robinhood Chain from other networks. Robinhood Chain uses 0x addresses, so check that the receiving platform supports the asset on the network shown in the exchange window.
Robinhood Chain Infrastructure Through NOWNodes
NOWNodes, a blockchain infrastructure provider within the ChangeNOW ecosystem, added Robinhood Chain in July 2026. The integration includes EVM JSON-RPC, WebSocket connections, Debug and Trace methods and archive access [12].
“From the integration side, Robinhood Chain did not require anything different from adding a standard EVM network.” – ChangeNOW Listing Team
Source: NOWNodes Blog
NOWNodes originally grew out of the infrastructure built to support ChangeNOW. Its role has since expanded beyond exchange operations, giving wallets, analytics platforms and Web3 applications direct access to blockchain networks.
For Robinhood Chain, the available tools cover several production needs:
EVM JSON-RPC allows applications to read blockchain data, call smart contracts and broadcast transactions.
WebSocket access delivers new blocks and contract events without repeated requests to the node.
Debug and Trace methods reveal the internal contract calls behind a transaction, helping developers investigate failed operations and unexpected gas use.
Archive access preserves historical blockchain states for analytics, audits and balance reconstruction.
Real-time event streams, historical state and transaction traces become important for wallets, exchanges and analytics services working at scale.
How Open Is Robinhood Chain?
Robinhood Chain is permissionless for wallets and developers. Anyone can connect a compatible wallet or deploy smart contracts without approval from Robinhood.
Transaction processing still runs through a sequencer that applies compliance screening. According to Robinhood’s documentation, transactions linked to sanctioned addresses can be excluded before execution [13].
To bridge to Robinhood Chain, assets move from Ethereum through a compatible bridge. Canonical withdrawals back to Ethereum include a seven-day challenge period. Faster routes rely on additional contracts and liquidity [8].

Robinhood Chain Risks and Limits
Robinhood Chain combines market exposure, smart contracts and cross-chain infrastructure.
Issuer and redemption risk: Corporate-action treatment, redemption and product availability depend on the issuer’s terms.
Smart contract risk: A flaw in a trading, lending or bridge protocol can affect deposited funds.
Liquidity risk: Thin markets can produce wider spreads, slippage and larger price impact.
Bridge risk: Third-party routes rely on separate contracts and message-verification systems.
Network control risk: A limited group orders transactions, checks the network state and can approve changes to critical contracts. Problems at this level may affect transaction processing, withdrawals or funds held in network contracts [14].
Regional restrictions: Stock Token access depends on jurisdiction and can change.
Token verification risk: Unrelated tokens can copy the name or symbol of an official asset.
The Robinhood Chain contract registry should serve as the reference point for official Stock Token addresses [9].
How HOODX Differs from Robinhood Chain Stock Tokens
HOODX is separate from Robinhood Stock Tokens. It is a tracker certificate issued by Backed Assets (JE) Limited that follows the price of Robinhood Markets shares [10].
ChangeNOW lists HOODX through its Solana route [11]. The receiving address and selected network must therefore support Solana.
ChangeNOW also brings supported tokenized stocks and metals together in its Real-World Assets hub.
