Reddit to Launch an NFT Avatar Marketplace

Earlier this year, social media platform Reddit allowed its customers to use any Ethereum-based NFT as their profile picture.

Today, the company launched a new marketplace where it will sell its own NFT avatars for users. The social network has partnered with Polygon to mint these avatars on-chain.

Reddit has announced that tens of thousands of avatars with 90 different designs will be sold at the early stage. Customers can pay for the chosen profile picture with credit or debit card and keep it in Reddit's own blockchain wallet called Vault. The prices will range from $9.99 to $99.99. The owners of these limited edition NFTs will have licensing rights to use the avatars on Reddit and other websites.
