What is Standard Tokenization Protocol (STPT)
Standard Tokenization Protocol, or STP, is a platform that facilitates the usage and discovery of digital assets. It was founded in 2019 by Minhui Chen and Sinhae Lee. The platform offers users a clear framework for asset tokenizing. STP-Standard is completely open-source and aimed at making assets fully compatible with the ERC-20 standard.
STP’s Compliance Validator verifies if everything complies with regulations, for example, KYC and AML, and with issuer-specific requirements such as holding periods, voting, etc. The Validator Committee is a group of high-level experts who track this work, ensure its accuracy, and constantly monitor changes in the regulatory landscape. STPT is an ERC-20 token that is used as a means of payment within the Standard Tokenization Protocol’s ecosystem.
In 2021, STP launched the Verse network, a Layer-2 sidechain for DAOs. The network was co-developed with the Meter Foundation, a DeFi infrastructure that facilitates the scaling of smart contracts. Verse was created in order to serve the next generation of DAOs and dApps.
